Connect ChatGPT Conversion API to Visiopt

Create a ChatGPT Campaign in Visiopt

 

Follow the steps below to create a ChatGPT Ads campaign and configure Conversion API tracking in Visiopt.

 

Step 1: Sign in to your Visiopt account.

 

Step 2: Navigate to the Manage Campaigns page. Click Create Campaign.

 

Step 3: Select your Funnel, enter a Campaign Name, and choose the Landing Page

Step 4: Click Continue.

Step 5: Select ChatGPT as the campaign type. Enable the ChatGPT checkbox.

 

When enabled, Visiopt displays a dialog containing the tracking parameter that must be added to your OpenAI Ads destination URL:

 

?visi_ai=chatgpt_paid

 

Important: Add this parameter to your OpenAI Ads landing page URL. It allows Visiopt to identify and track paid ChatGPT traffic separately from organic AI traffic.

 

 

Step 6: Click Connect ChatGPT.

 

Step 7: Enter your OpenAI API key. Click Connect.

Step 8: Once connected successfully, your OpenAI Ads account will be linked with Visiopt.

 

Step 9: Configure your campaign as needed:

• Conversion Goals
• Webhooks
• Postbacks

If you want to send conversion events to OpenAI Ads using the Conversion API, enable the Conversion API checkbox.

Step 10: After enabling the Conversion API:

• Enter your Pixel ID
• Enter your Conversion API Key
• Click Validate & Save

If you want to send landing page visits as Page View events:

1. Enable the Landing Page Visit option
2. Select Page View as the conversion event

Next, map your Visiopt goals to the corresponding OpenAI Ads conversion events that you created earlier.

 

You can configure different conversion events for different goals based on your tracking requirements.

After completing all settings:

1. Review your campaign configuration
2. Click Save Campaign

Your ChatGPT Ads campaign is now fully configured in Visiopt. If Conversion API is enabled, Visiopt will automatically send the configured conversion events to your connected OpenAI Ads account.

 

Set up Ads account and Campaigns in OpenAI

 

Part 1: Create Ads Account in ChatGPT

 

Step 1: Login to your openai account. https://auth.openai.com/log-in

 

Note: OpenAI Ads account service is only available in few countries.

 

Step 2: Set up your business for your openai ads account.

 

Step 3: After creating an ads account, you will redirect to campaigns.

 

Step 4: Create your first campaign, ad group & ads.

 

After reviewing your campaign, ad groups & ads, click on the publish button

 

Set up the ChatGPT API Token

 

Follow these steps to generate an OpenAI API key for connecting your ChatGPT account with Visiopt.

 

Step 1: Sign in to your OpenAI account.

 

Step 2: Navigate to Settings → General, then open the API Keys section.

Step 3: Click the Create New Key button.

Step 4: Enter a descriptive name for the API key and click Create.

Step 5: Once the key is generated, copy it or download it immediately. For security reasons, the full API key is displayed only once and cannot be viewed again after you close the dialog.

Copy the generated API key and paste it into the ChatGPT Integration section in Visiopt to complete the connection.

 

Set up the Pixel source and the Conversion API

 

To enable ChatGPT Ads conversion tracking with Visiopt, you need to create a Data Source (Pixel), generate a Conversion API Key, and create one or more Conversion Events in your OpenAI Ads account.

 

Create a Pixel Source (Data Source)

 

Step 1: Sign in to your OpenAI Ads account.

 

Step 2: Navigate to Tools → Conversions.

Step 3: Click Create Data Source.

 

Step 4: Enter a name for your data source and click Create.
