Managing Variables and Versions in Visiopt

This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) provides detailed instructions on selecting variables for your tests, creating versions, and managing them within the Visiopt system. This guide will help ensure users can efficiently handle variables and versions to optimize their testing processes.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Select a Variable
 

1. Locate the Variable

·   Move your cursor across the page to find the variable you'd like to test.

2. Select the Variable

·   Right-click on the desired element and choose "Select variable."

·   Name the variable with a descriptive title.

3. Save the Variable

·   Click "Save" to store the selected variable.

Step 2: Create a Version of the Variable
 

1. Create a Version

·   Click the plus button to create a new version of the selected variable.

·   Name the version appropriately.

2. Make Changes in Test Editor

·   Make any necessary changes within the test editor.

·   Click "Save" to store the changes.

Step 4: Manage Variables and Versions
 

1. Access Variables Panel

·   All variables and versions are found inside the variables panel.

2. Edit a Variable

·   Click the pencil button to edit a variable.

·   Make the desired changes and resave.

3. Delete a Variable

·   Click the red X to delete a variable.

·   Confirm the deletion by clicking OK.

4. Delete Entire Variable

·   To delete the entire variable and not just the version, click the X next to the variable.

Step 5: Advanced Features
 

1. Select Multiple Elements

·   Use the two, plus buttons to select more than one element in a single variable.

2. Error Prevention

·   Visiopt will not permit you to create more variables or versions than the test type allows.

·   If you attempt to select more variables than allowed, you will receive a warning.

·   Right-click and choose "Select parent" instead of "Select variable."
